Today's Catholic verse of the day is Malachi 4:5: “Behold, I will send you Elias the prophet, before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord.”
In Malachi, the prophetic word unsettles comfort and awakens hope. God loves His people enough to call them back, and enough to promise a future. Read in Catholic faith, this is not a decorative sentence for social media. It is a living word meant to convert, console, and send us back into ordinary life with a quieter heart.
As you hold this verse, do not force a dramatic feeling. Ask only for faithfulness. Pray a decade of the Rosary with this verse in mind. Ask Mary to teach you how to keep God's word and ponder it, as she did.
Prayer
Come, Holy Spirit. Open the Scriptures to me as You opened them to the apostles. In Malachi 4:5 I hear, “Behold, I will send you Elias the prophet, before the coming of the great and…” Give me understanding, give me desire, and give me the grace to obey with joy. Amen.
