Theme: Daily Scripture
“For they sleep not, except they have done evil: and their sleep is taken away unless they have made some to fall.”
Reflection for Today
Pause with Proverbs 4:16. Hear these words again: “For they sleep not, except they have done evil: and their sleep is taken away unless they have made some to fall.”
Proverbs belongs to the wisdom books, where faith meets daily decisions. Holiness is not only for extraordinary moments; it is learned in ordinary choices. Read in Catholic faith, this is not a decorative sentence for social media. It is a living word meant to convert, console, and send us back into ordinary life with a quieter heart.
God often changes us less by thunder and more by a line of Scripture that will not leave us alone. If possible, bring this line to Mass or to a brief visit before the Blessed Sacrament. Let Christ finish in silence what the verse began in your thoughts.
Prayer
Father of mercies, I bring You this day and this verse from Proverbs 4:16. As I listen to “For they sleep not, except they have done evil: and their sleep is taken away unless…,” heal what is anxious in me, correct what is proud, and strengthen what is willing to love. Amen.
