Reflection for Today
Pause with Philippians 3:6. Hear these words again: “According to zeal, persecuting the church of God: According to the justice that is in the law, conversing without blame.”
Philippians comes from the apostolic age, when the first communities were learning how to live the Gospel in ordinary struggles. The Church still listens here for guidance. Scripture rarely flatters us. It loves us enough to tell the truth, and then it stays with us while we learn to live that truth.
God often changes us less by thunder and more by a line of Scripture that will not leave us alone. If the verse convicts you, do not panic. Take it to Confession when you can, or begin with an honest Act of Contrition tonight.
Prayer
Holy Trinity, I receive today's verse with the Church. Keep Philippians 3:6 close to me. Let “According to zeal, persecuting the church of God: According to the justice that is…” guard my thoughts from morning until night, and let my life quietly agree with Your word. Amen.
