Theme: Work & Service
“He that feareth the Lord, honoureth his parents, and will serve them as his masters that brought him into the world.”
Reflection for Today
Pause with Sirach 3:8. Hear these words again: “He that feareth the Lord, honoureth his parents, and will serve them as his masters that brought him into the world.”
Sirach belongs to the wisdom books, where faith meets daily decisions. Holiness is not only for extraordinary moments; it is learned in ordinary choices. Read in Catholic faith, this is not a decorative sentence for social media. It is a living word meant to convert, console, and send us back into ordinary life with a quieter heart.
Today's invitation under the theme of Work & Service is simple and serious. If possible, bring this line to Mass or to a brief visit before the Blessed Sacrament. Let Christ finish in silence what the verse began in your thoughts.
Prayer
Father of mercies, I bring You this day and this verse from Sirach 3:8. As I listen to “He that feareth the Lord, honoureth his parents, and will serve them as his masters…,” heal what is anxious in me, correct what is proud, and strengthen what is willing to love. Amen.
