Let Isaiah 3:17 speak first, before our plans and worries do: “The Lord will make bald the crown of the head of the daughters of Sion, and the Lord will discover their hair.”
In Isaiah, the prophetic word unsettles comfort and awakens hope. God loves His people enough to call them back, and enough to promise a future. A single verse can meet us differently depending on the season we are in: grief, gratitude, fatigue, or new beginnings.
As you hold this verse, do not force a dramatic feeling. Ask only for faithfulness. Pray a decade of the Rosary with this verse in mind. Ask Mary to teach you how to keep God's word and ponder it, as she did.
Prayer
Come, Holy Spirit. Open the Scriptures to me as You opened them to the apostles. In Isaiah 3:17 I hear, “The Lord will make bald the crown of the head of the daughters of Sion, and the Lord…” Give me understanding, give me desire, and give me the grace to obey with joy. Amen.
