Catholic Verse of the Day

1 Timothy 2:7

Douay-Rheims Catholic Bible verse for Tuesday, January 5, 2027, with reflection, prayer, and a link to the full chapter.

Theme: Faith

Faith

Whereunto I am appointed a preacher and an apostle (I say the truth, I lie not), a doctor of the Gentiles in faith and truth.

1 Timothy 2:7

Reflection for Today

Pause with 1 Timothy 2:7. Hear these words again: “Whereunto I am appointed a preacher and an apostle (I say the truth, I lie not), a doctor of the Gentiles in faith and truth.”

1 Timothy comes from the apostolic age, when the first communities were learning how to live the Gospel in ordinary struggles. The Church still listens here for guidance. Belief grows less by argument alone and more by fidelity: returning to prayer, returning to Mass, returning to mercy.

Today's invitation under the theme of Faith is simple and serious. If the verse convicts you, do not panic. Take it to Confession when you can, or begin with an honest Act of Contrition tonight.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, Word made flesh, You still teach Your disciples through Sacred Scripture. Through 1 Timothy 2:7, let “Whereunto I am appointed a preacher and an apostle (I say the truth, I lie not), a…” become more than a memory. Make it light for my work, patience for my home, and courage for my vocation. Amen.
