Pause with 1 Thessalonians 2:12. Hear these words again: “We testified to every one of you that you would walk worthy of God, who hath called you unto his kingdom and glory.”
The Catholic way of reading is never solitary for long. We read with the Church, with the saints, and with the poor Christ still loves. 1 Thessalonians comes from the apostolic age, when the first communities were learning how to live the Gospel in ordinary struggles. The Church still listens here for guidance.
