Theme: Daily Scripture
“Which none of the princes of this world knew. For if they had known it, they would never have crucified the Lord of glory.”
Reflection for Today
Today's Catholic verse of the day is 1 Corinthians 2:8: “Which none of the princes of this world knew. For if they had known it, they would never have crucified the Lord of glory.”
Scripture rarely flatters us. It loves us enough to tell the truth, and then it stays with us while we learn to live that truth. 1 Corinthians comes from the apostolic age, when the first communities were learning how to live the Gospel in ordinary struggles. The Church still listens here for guidance.
Today's invitation under the theme of Daily Scripture is simple and serious. If the verse consoles you, do not rush past the comfort. Gratitude is also a form of obedience.
Prayer
Lord God, thank You for speaking through 1 Corinthians 2:8. You said, “Which none of the princes of this world knew. For if they had known it, they would…” I do not want to rush past these words. Quiet my mind, warm my heart, and help me live what I have heard with faith, hope, and charity. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
