Pause with Judges 2:5. Hear these words again: “And the name of that place was called, The place of weepers, or of tears: and there they offered sacrifices to the Lord.”
Judges is part of the long story of salvation. Catholics receive it as inspired Scripture, a word that prepares the heart for Christ and still nourishes the Church. Scripture rarely flatters us. It loves us enough to tell the truth, and then it stays with us while we learn to live that truth.

Prayer
Lord God, thank You for speaking through Judges 2:5. You said, “And the name of that place was called, The place of weepers, or of tears: and there…” I do not want to rush past these words. Quiet my mind, warm my heart, and help me live what I have heard with faith, hope, and charity. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
