Theme: Daily Scripture
“And when he had looked about this way and that way, and saw no one there, he slew the Egyptian and hid him in the sand.”
Reflection for Today
Pause with Exodus 2:12. Hear these words again: “And when he had looked about this way and that way, and saw no one there, he slew the Egyptian and hid him in the sand.”
Exodus is part of the long story of salvation. Catholics receive it as inspired Scripture, a word that prepares the heart for Christ and still nourishes the Church. Read in Catholic faith, this is not a decorative sentence for social media. It is a living word meant to convert, console, and send us back into ordinary life with a quieter heart.
God often changes us less by thunder and more by a line of Scripture that will not leave us alone. Before the day runs away, sit with this verse for two quiet minutes. Say it slowly. Notice which word stays warm in the heart, and carry that word into one conversation.
Prayer
Lord God, thank You for speaking through Exodus 2:12. You said, “And when he had looked about this way and that way, and saw no one there, he slew…” I do not want to rush past these words. Quiet my mind, warm my heart, and help me live what I have heard with faith, hope, and charity. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
