Catholic Verse of the Day

3 John 1:11

Douay-Rheims Catholic Bible verse for Wednesday, November 4, 2026, with reflection, prayer, and a link to the full chapter.

Theme: God's Love

Love

Dearly beloved, follow not that which is evil: but that which is good. He that doth good is of God: he that doth evil hath not seen God.

3 John 1:11

Reflection for Today

Pause with 3 John 1:11. Hear these words again: “Dearly beloved, follow not that which is evil: but that which is good. He that doth good is of God: he that doth evil hath not seen God.”

3 John comes from the apostolic age, when the first communities were learning how to live the Gospel in ordinary struggles. The Church still listens here for guidance. Read in Catholic faith, this is not a decorative sentence for social media. It is a living word meant to convert, console, and send us back into ordinary life with a quieter heart.

Today's invitation under the theme of God's Love is simple and serious. If possible, bring this line to Mass or to a brief visit before the Blessed Sacrament. Let Christ finish in silence what the verse began in your thoughts.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, Word made flesh, You still teach Your disciples through Sacred Scripture. Through 3 John 1:11, let “Dearly beloved, follow not that which is evil: but that which is good. He that doth…” become more than a memory. Make it light for my work, patience for my home, and courage for my vocation. Amen.
