Catholic Verse of the Day

2 Peter 1:11

Douay-Rheims Catholic Bible verse for Sunday, November 1, 2026, with reflection, prayer, and a link to the full chapter.

Theme: Daily Scripture

For so an entrance shall be ministered to you abundantly into the ever-lasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

2 Peter 1:11

Reflection for Today

Pause with 2 Peter 1:11. Hear these words again: “For so an entrance shall be ministered to you abundantly into the ever-lasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.”

2 Peter comes from the apostolic age, when the first communities were learning how to live the Gospel in ordinary struggles. The Church still listens here for guidance. Scripture rarely flatters us. It loves us enough to tell the truth, and then it stays with us while we learn to live that truth.

As you hold this verse, do not force a dramatic feeling. Ask only for faithfulness. If the verse convicts you, do not panic. Take it to Confession when you can, or begin with an honest Act of Contrition tonight.

Prayer

Lord God, thank You for speaking through 2 Peter 1:11. You said, “For so an entrance shall be ministered to you abundantly into the ever-lasting…” I do not want to rush past these words. Quiet my mind, warm my heart, and help me live what I have heard with faith, hope, and charity. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
