Catholic Verse of the Day

James 1:13

Douay-Rheims Catholic Bible verse for Friday, October 30, 2026, with reflection, prayer, and a link to the full chapter.

Theme: Daily Scripture

Let no man, when he is tempted, say that he is tempted by God. For God is not a tempter of evils: and he tempteth no man.

James 1:13

Reflection for Today

Let James 1:13 speak first, before our plans and worries do: “Let no man, when he is tempted, say that he is tempted by God. For God is not a tempter of evils: and he tempteth no man.”

James comes from the apostolic age, when the first communities were learning how to live the Gospel in ordinary struggles. The Church still listens here for guidance. Read in Catholic faith, this is not a decorative sentence for social media. It is a living word meant to convert, console, and send us back into ordinary life with a quieter heart.

God often changes us less by thunder and more by a line of Scripture that will not leave us alone. Pray a decade of the Rosary with this verse in mind. Ask Mary to teach you how to keep God's word and ponder it, as she did.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, Word made flesh, You still teach Your disciples through Sacred Scripture. Through James 1:13, let “Let no man, when he is tempted, say that he is tempted by God. For God is not a…” become more than a memory. Make it light for my work, patience for my home, and courage for my vocation. Amen.
