Theme: Daily Scripture
“For an example of the just judgment of God, that you may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which also you suffer.”
Reflection for Today
Pause with 2 Thessalonians 1:5. Hear these words again: “For an example of the just judgment of God, that you may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which also you suffer.”
2 Thessalonians comes from the apostolic age, when the first communities were learning how to live the Gospel in ordinary struggles. The Church still listens here for guidance. Scripture rarely flatters us. It loves us enough to tell the truth, and then it stays with us while we learn to live that truth.
As you hold this verse, do not force a dramatic feeling. Ask only for faithfulness. Before the day runs away, sit with this verse for two quiet minutes. Say it slowly. Notice which word stays warm in the heart, and carry that word into one conversation.
Prayer
Holy Trinity, I receive today's verse with the Church. Keep 2 Thessalonians 1:5 close to me. Let “For an example of the just judgment of God, that you may be counted worthy of the…” guard my thoughts from morning until night, and let my life quietly agree with Your word. Amen.
