Today's Catholic verse of the day is 1 Thessalonians 1:10: “And to wait for his Son from heaven (whom he raised up from the dead), Jesus, who hath delivered us from the wrath to come.”
Christian hope is not optimism with better branding. It is confidence that God is still at work when our timelines feel delayed. 1 Thessalonians comes from the apostolic age, when the first communities were learning how to live the Gospel in ordinary struggles. The Church still listens here for guidance.
Today's invitation under the theme of Hope & Renewal is simple and serious. Pray a decade of the Rosary with this verse in mind. Ask Mary to teach you how to keep God's word and ponder it, as she did.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, Word made flesh, You still teach Your disciples through Sacred Scripture. Through 1 Thessalonians 1:10, let “And to wait for his Son from heaven (whom he raised up from the dead), Jesus, who…” become more than a memory. Make it light for my work, patience for my home, and courage for my vocation. Amen.
