Pause with Colossians 1:28. Hear these words again: “Whom we preach, admonishing every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus.”
A wise Catholic heart listens twice: once to Scripture, and once to the quiet prompting of conscience formed by the Church. Colossians comes from the apostolic age, when the first communities were learning how to live the Gospel in ordinary struggles. The Church still listens here for guidance.
