Theme: Faith

FaithGratitude

First, I give thanks to my God, through Jesus Christ, for you all: because your faith is spoken of in the whole world.

Romans 1:8

Reflection for Today

Today's Catholic verse of the day is Romans 1:8: “First, I give thanks to my God, through Jesus Christ, for you all: because your faith is spoken of in the whole world.”

Faith is not pretending we have no questions. It is trusting Christ enough to keep walking while the answers are still unfinished. Romans comes from the apostolic age, when the first communities were learning how to live the Gospel in ordinary struggles. The Church still listens here for guidance.

If nothing else remains from this page, let one phrase of Romans 1:8 remain. If the verse convicts you, do not panic. Take it to Confession when you can, or begin with an honest Act of Contrition tonight.

Prayer

Father of mercies, I bring You this day and this verse from Romans 1:8. As I listen to “First, I give thanks to my God, through Jesus Christ, for you all: because your…,” heal what is anxious in me, correct what is proud, and strengthen what is willing to love. Amen.
