Theme: Prayer
“All these were persevering with one mind in prayer with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.”
Reflection for Today
Let Acts 1:14 speak first, before our plans and worries do: “All these were persevering with one mind in prayer with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.”
The Acts of the Apostles remind us that the Church is not a museum of holy memories. It is a living community moved by the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning. We often wait to feel holy before we pray. Scripture gently reverses that: we pray, and holiness begins to find us.
As you hold this verse, do not force a dramatic feeling. Ask only for faithfulness. If possible, bring this line to Mass or to a brief visit before the Blessed Sacrament. Let Christ finish in silence what the verse began in your thoughts.
Prayer
Lord God, thank You for speaking through Acts 1:14. You said, “All these were persevering with one mind in prayer with the women, and Mary the…” I do not want to rush past these words. Quiet my mind, warm my heart, and help me live what I have heard with faith, hope, and charity. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
