Today's Catholic verse of the day is Zephaniah 1:6: “And them that turn away from following after the Lord, and that have not sought the Lord, nor searched after him.”
In Zephaniah, the prophetic word unsettles comfort and awakens hope. God loves His people enough to call them back, and enough to promise a future. A single verse can meet us differently depending on the season we are in: grief, gratitude, fatigue, or new beginnings.
Today's invitation under the theme of Daily Scripture is simple and serious. If the verse consoles you, do not rush past the comfort. Gratitude is also a form of obedience.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, Word made flesh, You still teach Your disciples through Sacred Scripture. Through Zephaniah 1:6, let “And them that turn away from following after the Lord, and that have not sought the…” become more than a memory. Make it light for my work, patience for my home, and courage for my vocation. Amen.
