Theme: Salvation
“How long, O Lord, shall I cry, and thou wilt not hear? shall I cry out to thee suffering violence, and thou wilt not save?”
Reflection for Today
Today's Catholic verse of the day is Habakkuk 1:2: “How long, O Lord, shall I cry, and thou wilt not hear? shall I cry out to thee suffering violence, and thou wilt not save?”
In Habakkuk, the prophetic word unsettles comfort and awakens hope. God loves His people enough to call them back, and enough to promise a future. A single verse can meet us differently depending on the season we are in: grief, gratitude, fatigue, or new beginnings.
As you hold this verse, do not force a dramatic feeling. Ask only for faithfulness. Share this verse with someone who needs encouragement, not as advice from above, but as a gift you yourself are trying to live.
Prayer
Lord God, thank You for speaking through Habakkuk 1:2. You said, “How long, O Lord, shall I cry, and thou wilt not hear? shall I cry out to thee…” I do not want to rush past these words. Quiet my mind, warm my heart, and help me live what I have heard with faith, hope, and charity. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
