Theme: Prayer
“And when I had heard these words, I sat down, and wept, and mourned for many days: and I fasted, and prayed before the face of the God of heaven.”
Reflection for Today
Today's Catholic verse of the day is Nehemiah 1:4: “And when I had heard these words, I sat down, and wept, and mourned for many days: and I fasted, and prayed before the face of the God of heaven.”
Prayer is where Scripture stops being information and becomes relationship. Even a short, honest conversation with God can reorder a crowded day. Nehemiah is part of the long story of salvation. Catholics receive it as inspired Scripture, a word that prepares the heart for Christ and still nourishes the Church.
If nothing else remains from this page, let one phrase of Nehemiah 1:4 remain. Share this verse with someone who needs encouragement, not as advice from above, but as a gift you yourself are trying to live.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, Word made flesh, You still teach Your disciples through Sacred Scripture. Through Nehemiah 1:4, let “And when I had heard these words, I sat down, and wept, and mourned for many days:…” become more than a memory. Make it light for my work, patience for my home, and courage for my vocation. Amen.
