Reflection for Today
Today's Catholic verse of the day is Tobit 1:13: “And because he was mindful of the Lord with all his heart, God gave him favour in the sight of Salmanasar the king.”
Scripture rarely flatters us. It loves us enough to tell the truth, and then it stays with us while we learn to live that truth. Tobit, received in the Catholic canon, shows courage, fidelity, and providence when God's people are tested.
As you hold this verse, do not force a dramatic feeling. Ask only for faithfulness. Pray a decade of the Rosary with this verse in mind. Ask Mary to teach you how to keep God's word and ponder it, as she did.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, Word made flesh, You still teach Your disciples through Sacred Scripture. Through Tobit 1:13, let “And because he was mindful of the Lord with all his heart, God gave him favour in…” become more than a memory. Make it light for my work, patience for my home, and courage for my vocation. Amen.
