“And Juda went up, and the Lord delivered the Chanaanite, and the Pherezite into their hands: and they slew of them in Bezec ten thousand men.”
Reflection for Today
Today's Catholic verse of the day is Judges 1:4: “And Juda went up, and the Lord delivered the Chanaanite, and the Pherezite into their hands: and they slew of them in Bezec ten thousand men.”
Judges is part of the long story of salvation. Catholics receive it as inspired Scripture, a word that prepares the heart for Christ and still nourishes the Church. Read in Catholic faith, this is not a decorative sentence for social media. It is a living word meant to convert, console, and send us back into ordinary life with a quieter heart.
As you hold this verse, do not force a dramatic feeling. Ask only for faithfulness. If the verse consoles you, do not rush past the comfort. Gratitude is also a form of obedience.
Prayer
Come, Holy Spirit. Open the Scriptures to me as You opened them to the apostles. In Judges 1:4 I hear, “And Juda went up, and the Lord delivered the Chanaanite, and the Pherezite into…” Give me understanding, give me desire, and give me the grace to obey with joy. Amen.
