Today's Focus: Gratitude for Work
Before stepping into retirement, we pause to give thanks. Every year of work was a gift — an opportunity to use the talents God gave you, to serve others, and to provide for those you love. Today we honor that labor with gratitude.
Prayer for Day 1
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Prayer of Gratitude:
Heavenly Father, I thank You for the gift of work. For every morning I rose to serve, every challenge that shaped me, every colleague who walked alongside me, and every moment I contributed something meaningful — I am grateful. You gave me strength, skill, and purpose through my years of labor. Thank You for the provision, the growth, and the dignity that work has brought to my life.
Scripture Reading:
"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward." (Colossians 3:23-24)

Closing Prayer:
Lord, as I close this chapter of my working life, I offer it all back to You. May the fruits of my labor continue to bless others. And may I carry the lessons learned into the new season ahead. Amen.

Take time today to write down three to five things you are most grateful for from your working years. People, achievements, lessons learned, ways you made a difference. Let gratitude fill your heart as you close this chapter.
