Reflection for Today
Pause with Numbers 34:29. Hear these words again: “These are they Whom the Lord hath commanded to divide the land of Chanaan to the children of Israel.”
The Catholic way of reading is never solitary for long. We read with the Church, with the saints, and with the poor Christ still loves. Numbers is part of the long story of salvation. Catholics receive it as inspired Scripture, a word that prepares the heart for Christ and still nourishes the Church.
As you hold this verse, do not force a dramatic feeling. Ask only for faithfulness. Write one sentence of response in a notebook or phone note: what you hear God asking, promising, or healing. Then do one small act that matches that sentence.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, Word made flesh, You still teach Your disciples through Sacred Scripture. Through Numbers 34:29, let “These are they Whom the Lord hath commanded to divide the land of Chanaan to the…” become more than a memory. Make it light for my work, patience for my home, and courage for my vocation. Amen.
