Theme: Daily Scripture
“And Esau said: What are the droves that I met? He answered: That I might find favour before my lord.”
Reflection for Today
The Church sets before us Genesis 33:8: “And Esau said: What are the droves that I met? He answered: That I might find favour before my lord.”
Genesis is part of the long story of salvation. Catholics receive it as inspired Scripture, a word that prepares the heart for Christ and still nourishes the Church. The Catholic way of reading is never solitary for long. We read with the Church, with the saints, and with the poor Christ still loves.
If nothing else remains from this page, let one phrase of Genesis 33:8 remain. Share this verse with someone who needs encouragement, not as advice from above, but as a gift you yourself are trying to live.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, Word made flesh, You still teach Your disciples through Sacred Scripture. Through Genesis 33:8, let “And Esau said: What are the droves that I met? He answered: That I might find favour…” become more than a memory. Make it light for my work, patience for my home, and courage for my vocation. Amen.
