The Church sets before us Sirach 32:18: “He that feareth the Lord, will receive his discipline: and they that will seek him early, shall find a blessing.”
Sirach belongs to the wisdom books, where faith meets daily decisions. Holiness is not only for extraordinary moments; it is learned in ordinary choices. Peace is one of the first things anxiety steals. Christ does not deny our storms; He offers a peace that can remain even while the waves are still high.
If nothing else remains from this page, let one phrase of Sirach 32:18 remain. Name your loudest fear before God without editing it. Then ask for the peace of Christ, not the peace of perfect control.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, Word made flesh, You still teach Your disciples through Sacred Scripture. Through Sirach 32:18, let “He that feareth the Lord, will receive his discipline: and they that will seek him…” become more than a memory. Make it light for my work, patience for my home, and courage for my vocation. Amen.
