The Church sets before us Job 31:14: “For what shall I do when God shall rise to judge? and when he shall examine, what shall I answer him?”
Job belongs to the wisdom books, where faith meets daily decisions. Holiness is not only for extraordinary moments; it is learned in ordinary choices. The Catholic way of reading is never solitary for long. We read with the Church, with the saints, and with the poor Christ still loves.
