Pause with Genesis 30:27. Hear these words again: “Laban said to him: Let me find favour in thy sight: I have learned, by experience, that God hath blessed me for thy sake.”
Genesis is part of the long story of salvation. Catholics receive it as inspired Scripture, a word that prepares the heart for Christ and still nourishes the Church. Scripture rarely flatters us. It loves us enough to tell the truth, and then it stays with us while we learn to live that truth.
As you hold this verse, do not force a dramatic feeling. Ask only for faithfulness. Share this verse with someone who needs encouragement, not as advice from above, but as a gift you yourself are trying to live.
Prayer
Lord God, thank You for speaking through Genesis 30:27. You said, “Laban said to him: Let me find favour in thy sight: I have learned, by experience,…” I do not want to rush past these words. Quiet my mind, warm my heart, and help me live what I have heard with faith, hope, and charity. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
