Catholic Verse of the Day

Job 29:2

Douay-Rheims Catholic Bible verse for Thursday, June 28, 2029, with reflection, prayer, and a link to the full chapter.

Theme: Daily Scripture

Who will grant me, that I might be according to the months past, according to the days in which God kept me?

Job 29:2

Reflection for Today

Let Job 29:2 speak first, before our plans and worries do: “Who will grant me, that I might be according to the months past, according to the days in which God kept me?”

Job belongs to the wisdom books, where faith meets daily decisions. Holiness is not only for extraordinary moments; it is learned in ordinary choices. A single verse can meet us differently depending on the season we are in: grief, gratitude, fatigue, or new beginnings.

God often changes us less by thunder and more by a line of Scripture that will not leave us alone. Write one sentence of response in a notebook or phone note: what you hear God asking, promising, or healing. Then do one small act that matches that sentence.

Prayer

Holy Trinity, I receive today's verse with the Church. Keep Job 29:2 close to me. Let “Who will grant me, that I might be according to the months past, according to the…” guard my thoughts from morning until night, and let my life quietly agree with Your word. Amen.
