And he did that which was pleasing in the sight of the Lord, according to all that David his father had done.

2 Chronicles 29:2

Reflection for Today

Pause with 2 Chronicles 29:2. Hear these words again: “And he did that which was pleasing in the sight of the Lord, according to all that David his father had done.”

2 Chronicles is part of the long story of salvation. Catholics receive it as inspired Scripture, a word that prepares the heart for Christ and still nourishes the Church. Read in Catholic faith, this is not a decorative sentence for social media. It is a living word meant to convert, console, and send us back into ordinary life with a quieter heart.

Today's invitation under the theme of Family is simple and serious. Pray a decade of the Rosary with this verse in mind. Ask Mary to teach you how to keep God's word and ponder it, as she did.

Prayer

Come, Holy Spirit. Open the Scriptures to me as You opened them to the apostles. In 2 Chronicles 29:2 I hear, “And he did that which was pleasing in the sight of the Lord, according to all that…” Give me understanding, give me desire, and give me the grace to obey with joy. Amen.
