Theme: Peace
“Return therefore, and go in peace, and offend not the eyes of the princes of the Philistines.”
Reflection for Today
The Church sets before us 1 Samuel 29:7: “Return therefore, and go in peace, and offend not the eyes of the princes of the Philistines.”
Peace is one of the first things anxiety steals. Christ does not deny our storms; He offers a peace that can remain even while the waves are still high. 1 Samuel is part of the long story of salvation. Catholics receive it as inspired Scripture, a word that prepares the heart for Christ and still nourishes the Church.
Today's invitation under the theme of Peace is simple and serious. If possible, bring this line to Mass or to a brief visit before the Blessed Sacrament. Let Christ finish in silence what the verse began in your thoughts.
Prayer
Lord God, thank You for speaking through 1 Samuel 29:7. You said, “Return therefore, and go in peace, and offend not the eyes of the princes of the…” I do not want to rush past these words. Quiet my mind, warm my heart, and help me live what I have heard with faith, hope, and charity. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
