Catholic Verse of the Day

Acts 28:20

Douay-Rheims Catholic Bible verse for Wednesday, June 20, 2029, with reflection, prayer, and a link to the full chapter.

Theme: Hope & Renewal

Hope

For this cause therefore I desired to see you and to speak to you. Because that for the hope of Israel, I am bound with this chain.

Acts 28:20

Reflection for Today

The Church sets before us Acts 28:20: “For this cause therefore I desired to see you and to speak to you. Because that for the hope of Israel, I am bound with this chain.”

Christian hope is not optimism with better branding. It is confidence that God is still at work when our timelines feel delayed. The Acts of the Apostles remind us that the Church is not a museum of holy memories. It is a living community moved by the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning.

Today's invitation under the theme of Hope & Renewal is simple and serious. Write one sentence of response in a notebook or phone note: what you hear God asking, promising, or healing. Then do one small act that matches that sentence.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, Word made flesh, You still teach Your disciples through Sacred Scripture. Through Acts 28:20, let “For this cause therefore I desired to see you and to speak to you. Because that for…” become more than a memory. Make it light for my work, patience for my home, and courage for my vocation. Amen.
