And all the people of the earth shall see that the name of the Lord is invocated upon thee, and they shall fear thee.

Deuteronomy 28:10

Reflection for Today

Pause with Deuteronomy 28:10. Hear these words again: “And all the people of the earth shall see that the name of the Lord is invocated upon thee, and they shall fear thee.”

Many of us carry quiet fear into work, family, and prayer. This verse does not shame that fear. It invites us to bring it into the light of God. Deuteronomy is part of the long story of salvation. Catholics receive it as inspired Scripture, a word that prepares the heart for Christ and still nourishes the Church.

God often changes us less by thunder and more by a line of Scripture that will not leave us alone. Pray a decade of the Rosary with this verse in mind. Ask Mary to teach you how to keep God's word and ponder it, as she did.

Prayer

Father of mercies, I bring You this day and this verse from Deuteronomy 28:10. As I listen to “And all the people of the earth shall see that the name of the Lord is invocated…,” heal what is anxious in me, correct what is proud, and strengthen what is willing to love. Amen.
