Catholic Verse of the Day

Isaiah 27:3

Douay-Rheims Catholic Bible verse for Thursday, May 31, 2029, with reflection, prayer, and a link to the full chapter.

Theme: Daily Scripture

I am the Lord that keep it, I will suddenly give it drink: lest any hurt come to it, I keep it night and day.

Isaiah 27:3

Reflection for Today

Pause with Isaiah 27:3. Hear these words again: “I am the Lord that keep it, I will suddenly give it drink: lest any hurt come to it, I keep it night and day.”

In Isaiah, the prophetic word unsettles comfort and awakens hope. God loves His people enough to call them back, and enough to promise a future. Scripture rarely flatters us. It loves us enough to tell the truth, and then it stays with us while we learn to live that truth.

As you hold this verse, do not force a dramatic feeling. Ask only for faithfulness. Write one sentence of response in a notebook or phone note: what you hear God asking, promising, or healing. Then do one small act that matches that sentence.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, Word made flesh, You still teach Your disciples through Sacred Scripture. Through Isaiah 27:3, let “I am the Lord that keep it, I will suddenly give it drink: lest any hurt come to it,…” become more than a memory. Make it light for my work, patience for my home, and courage for my vocation. Amen.
