Theme: Daily Scripture
“Unless thou hold thyself diligently in the fear of the Lord, thy house shall quickly be overthrown.”
Reflection for Today
Today's Catholic verse of the day is Sirach 27:4: “Unless thou hold thyself diligently in the fear of the Lord, thy house shall quickly be overthrown.”
Peace is one of the first things anxiety steals. Christ does not deny our storms; He offers a peace that can remain even while the waves are still high. Sirach belongs to the wisdom books, where faith meets daily decisions. Holiness is not only for extraordinary moments; it is learned in ordinary choices.
As you hold this verse, do not force a dramatic feeling. Ask only for faithfulness. Write one sentence of response in a notebook or phone note: what you hear God asking, promising, or healing. Then do one small act that matches that sentence.
Prayer
Lord God, thank You for speaking through Sirach 27:4. You said, “Unless thou hold thyself diligently in the fear of the Lord, thy house shall quickly…” I do not want to rush past these words. Quiet my mind, warm my heart, and help me live what I have heard with faith, hope, and charity. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
