Theme: Daily Scripture
“And the number of them with their brethren, that taught the song of the Lord, all the teachers, were two hundred and eighty-eight.”
Reflection for Today
The Church sets before us 1 Chronicles 25:7: “And the number of them with their brethren, that taught the song of the Lord, all the teachers, were two hundred and eighty-eight.”
1 Chronicles is part of the long story of salvation. Catholics receive it as inspired Scripture, a word that prepares the heart for Christ and still nourishes the Church. Read in Catholic faith, this is not a decorative sentence for social media. It is a living word meant to convert, console, and send us back into ordinary life with a quieter heart.
God often changes us less by thunder and more by a line of Scripture that will not leave us alone. Pray a decade of the Rosary with this verse in mind. Ask Mary to teach you how to keep God's word and ponder it, as she did.
Prayer
Holy Trinity, I receive today's verse with the Church. Keep 1 Chronicles 25:7 close to me. Let “And the number of them with their brethren, that taught the song of the Lord, all…” guard my thoughts from morning until night, and let my life quietly agree with Your word. Amen.
