Catholic Verse of the Day

Leviticus 25:38

Douay-Rheims Catholic Bible verse for Monday, April 16, 2029, with reflection, prayer, and a link to the full chapter.

Theme: Daily Scripture

I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, that I might give you the land of Chanaan, and might be your God.

Leviticus 25:38

Reflection for Today

The Church sets before us Leviticus 25:38: “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, that I might give you the land of Chanaan, and might be your God.”

Leviticus is part of the long story of salvation. Catholics receive it as inspired Scripture, a word that prepares the heart for Christ and still nourishes the Church. The Catholic way of reading is never solitary for long. We read with the Church, with the saints, and with the poor Christ still loves.

As you hold this verse, do not force a dramatic feeling. Ask only for faithfulness. If the verse convicts you, do not panic. Take it to Confession when you can, or begin with an honest Act of Contrition tonight.

Prayer

Lord God, thank You for speaking through Leviticus 25:38. You said, “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, that I might give…” I do not want to rush past these words. Quiet my mind, warm my heart, and help me live what I have heard with faith, hope, and charity. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
