Catholic Verse of the Day

Matthew 24:1

Douay-Rheims Catholic Bible verse for Wednesday, April 11, 2029, with reflection, prayer, and a link to the full chapter.

Theme: Daily Scripture

And Jesus being come out of the temple, went away. And his disciples came to shew him the buildings of the temple.

Matthew 24:1

Reflection for Today

Pause with Matthew 24:1. Hear these words again: “And Jesus being come out of the temple, went away. And his disciples came to shew him the buildings of the temple.”

The Catholic way of reading is never solitary for long. We read with the Church, with the saints, and with the poor Christ still loves. Matthew does not give us a distant memory of Jesus. It places us in His company, where every word can become prayer.

Today's invitation under the theme of Daily Scripture is simple and serious. If possible, bring this line to Mass or to a brief visit before the Blessed Sacrament. Let Christ finish in silence what the verse began in your thoughts.

Prayer

Come, Holy Spirit. Open the Scriptures to me as You opened them to the apostles. In Matthew 24:1 I hear, “And Jesus being come out of the temple, went away. And his disciples came to shew…” Give me understanding, give me desire, and give me the grace to obey with joy. Amen.
