Catholic Verse of the Day

Ezekiel 23:36

Douay-Rheims Catholic Bible verse for Tuesday, March 20, 2029, with reflection, prayer, and a link to the full chapter.

Theme: Daily Scripture

And the Lord spoke to me, saying: Son of man, dost thou judge Oolla, and Ooliba, and dost thou declare to them their wicked deeds?

Ezekiel 23:36

Reflection for Today

Let Ezekiel 23:36 speak first, before our plans and worries do: “And the Lord spoke to me, saying: Son of man, dost thou judge Oolla, and Ooliba, and dost thou declare to them their wicked deeds?”

Scripture rarely flatters us. It loves us enough to tell the truth, and then it stays with us while we learn to live that truth. In Ezekiel, the prophetic word unsettles comfort and awakens hope. God loves His people enough to call them back, and enough to promise a future.

Today's invitation under the theme of Daily Scripture is simple and serious. If possible, bring this line to Mass or to a brief visit before the Blessed Sacrament. Let Christ finish in silence what the verse began in your thoughts.

Prayer

Come, Holy Spirit. Open the Scriptures to me as You opened them to the apostles. In Ezekiel 23:36 I hear, “And the Lord spoke to me, saying: Son of man, dost thou judge Oolla, and Ooliba, and…” Give me understanding, give me desire, and give me the grace to obey with joy. Amen.
