Theme: Daily Scripture
“And Joiada made a covenant between himself and all the people, and the king, that they should be the people of the lord.”
Reflection for Today
Let 2 Chronicles 23:16 speak first, before our plans and worries do: “And Joiada made a covenant between himself and all the people, and the king, that they should be the people of the lord.”
2 Chronicles is part of the long story of salvation. Catholics receive it as inspired Scripture, a word that prepares the heart for Christ and still nourishes the Church. Read in Catholic faith, this is not a decorative sentence for social media. It is a living word meant to convert, console, and send us back into ordinary life with a quieter heart.
God often changes us less by thunder and more by a line of Scripture that will not leave us alone. If possible, bring this line to Mass or to a brief visit before the Blessed Sacrament. Let Christ finish in silence what the verse began in your thoughts.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, Word made flesh, You still teach Your disciples through Sacred Scripture. Through 2 Chronicles 23:16, let “And Joiada made a covenant between himself and all the people, and the king, that…” become more than a memory. Make it light for my work, patience for my home, and courage for my vocation. Amen.
