Theme: Family
“Speak to the children of Israel, and thou shalt say to them: These are the feasts of the Lord, which you shall call holy.”
Reflection for Today
The Church sets before us Leviticus 23:2: “Speak to the children of Israel, and thou shalt say to them: These are the feasts of the Lord, which you shall call holy.”
A single verse can meet us differently depending on the season we are in: grief, gratitude, fatigue, or new beginnings. Leviticus is part of the long story of salvation. Catholics receive it as inspired Scripture, a word that prepares the heart for Christ and still nourishes the Church.
As you hold this verse, do not force a dramatic feeling. Ask only for faithfulness. If the verse consoles you, do not rush past the comfort. Gratitude is also a form of obedience.
Prayer
Holy Trinity, I receive today's verse with the Church. Keep Leviticus 23:2 close to me. Let “Speak to the children of Israel, and thou shalt say to them: These are the feasts of…” guard my thoughts from morning until night, and let my life quietly agree with Your word. Amen.
