Catholic Verse of the Day

Genesis 23:2

Douay-Rheims Catholic Bible verse for Saturday, March 3, 2029, with reflection, prayer, and a link to the full chapter.

Theme: Daily Scripture

And she died in the city of Arbee which is Hebron, in the land of Chanaan: and Abraham came to mourn and weep for her.

Genesis 23:2

Reflection for Today

Pause with Genesis 23:2. Hear these words again: “And she died in the city of Arbee which is Hebron, in the land of Chanaan: and Abraham came to mourn and weep for her.”

The Catholic way of reading is never solitary for long. We read with the Church, with the saints, and with the poor Christ still loves. Genesis is part of the long story of salvation. Catholics receive it as inspired Scripture, a word that prepares the heart for Christ and still nourishes the Church.

Today's invitation under the theme of Daily Scripture is simple and serious. Share this verse with someone who needs encouragement, not as advice from above, but as a gift you yourself are trying to live.

Prayer

Come, Holy Spirit. Open the Scriptures to me as You opened them to the apostles. In Genesis 23:2 I hear, “And she died in the city of Arbee which is Hebron, in the land of Chanaan: and…” Give me understanding, give me desire, and give me the grace to obey with joy. Amen.
