Catholic Verse of the Day

1 Chronicles 22:11

Douay-Rheims Catholic Bible verse for Sunday, February 18, 2029, with reflection, prayer, and a link to the full chapter.

Theme: Daily Scripture

Now then, my son, the Lord be with thee, and do thou prosper, and build the house to the Lord thy God, as he hath spoken of thee.

1 Chronicles 22:11

Reflection for Today

Pause with 1 Chronicles 22:11. Hear these words again: “Now then, my son, the Lord be with thee, and do thou prosper, and build the house to the Lord thy God, as he hath spoken of thee.”

1 Chronicles is part of the long story of salvation. Catholics receive it as inspired Scripture, a word that prepares the heart for Christ and still nourishes the Church. Scripture rarely flatters us. It loves us enough to tell the truth, and then it stays with us while we learn to live that truth.

As you hold this verse, do not force a dramatic feeling. Ask only for faithfulness. Write one sentence of response in a notebook or phone note: what you hear God asking, promising, or healing. Then do one small act that matches that sentence.

Prayer

Come, Holy Spirit. Open the Scriptures to me as You opened them to the apostles. In 1 Chronicles 22:11 I hear, “Now then, my son, the Lord be with thee, and do thou prosper, and build the house to…” Give me understanding, give me desire, and give me the grace to obey with joy. Amen.
