Let 1 Samuel 22:10 speak first, before our plans and worries do: “And he consulted the Lord for him, and gave him victuals, and gave him the sword of Goliath, the Philistine.”
Scripture rarely flatters us. It loves us enough to tell the truth, and then it stays with us while we learn to live that truth. 1 Samuel is part of the long story of salvation. Catholics receive it as inspired Scripture, a word that prepares the heart for Christ and still nourishes the Church.

Prayer
Lord God, thank You for speaking through 1 Samuel 22:10. You said, “And he consulted the Lord for him, and gave him victuals, and gave him the sword of…” I do not want to rush past these words. Quiet my mind, warm my heart, and help me live what I have heard with faith, hope, and charity. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
