Theme: Peace
“And they sent messengers to the children of Benjamin, that were in the rock Remmon, and commanded them to receive them in peace.”
Reflection for Today
Pause with Judges 21:13. Hear these words again: “And they sent messengers to the children of Benjamin, that were in the rock Remmon, and commanded them to receive them in peace.”
Many of us carry quiet fear into work, family, and prayer. This verse does not shame that fear. It invites us to bring it into the light of God. Judges is part of the long story of salvation. Catholics receive it as inspired Scripture, a word that prepares the heart for Christ and still nourishes the Church.
If nothing else remains from this page, let one phrase of Judges 21:13 remain. If the verse consoles you, do not rush past the comfort. Gratitude is also a form of obedience.
Prayer
Come, Holy Spirit. Open the Scriptures to me as You opened them to the apostles. In Judges 21:13 I hear, “And they sent messengers to the children of Benjamin, that were in the rock Remmon,…” Give me understanding, give me desire, and give me the grace to obey with joy. Amen.
