Theme: Family
“And the children of Israel gave out of their possessions according to the commandment of the Lord, cities and their suburbs.”
Reflection for Today
The Church sets before us Joshua 21:3: “And the children of Israel gave out of their possessions according to the commandment of the Lord, cities and their suburbs.”
Joshua is part of the long story of salvation. Catholics receive it as inspired Scripture, a word that prepares the heart for Christ and still nourishes the Church. The Catholic way of reading is never solitary for long. We read with the Church, with the saints, and with the poor Christ still loves.
Today's invitation under the theme of Family is simple and serious. If the verse consoles you, do not rush past the comfort. Gratitude is also a form of obedience.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, Word made flesh, You still teach Your disciples through Sacred Scripture. Through Joshua 21:3, let “And the children of Israel gave out of their possessions according to the…” become more than a memory. Make it light for my work, patience for my home, and courage for my vocation. Amen.
