Exodus 21:13

Reflection for Today

Let Exodus 21:13 speak first, before our plans and worries do: “But he that did not lie in wait for him, but God delivered him into his hands: I will appoint thee a place to which he must flee.”

Exodus is part of the long story of salvation. Catholics receive it as inspired Scripture, a word that prepares the heart for Christ and still nourishes the Church. Hope does not erase waiting. It changes what waiting means: not empty delay, but trust that God is preparing what we cannot yet see.

God often changes us less by thunder and more by a line of Scripture that will not leave us alone. If the verse consoles you, do not rush past the comfort. Gratitude is also a form of obedience.
