Catholic Verse of the Day

Genesis 21:22

Douay-Rheims Catholic Bible verse for Sunday, January 14, 2029, with reflection, prayer, and a link to the full chapter.

Theme: Daily Scripture

At the same time Abimelech, and Phicol the general of his army, said to Abraham: God is with thee in all that thou dost.

Genesis 21:22

Reflection for Today

Let Genesis 21:22 speak first, before our plans and worries do: “At the same time Abimelech, and Phicol the general of his army, said to Abraham: God is with thee in all that thou dost.”

Scripture rarely flatters us. It loves us enough to tell the truth, and then it stays with us while we learn to live that truth. Genesis is part of the long story of salvation. Catholics receive it as inspired Scripture, a word that prepares the heart for Christ and still nourishes the Church.

If nothing else remains from this page, let one phrase of Genesis 21:22 remain. Share this verse with someone who needs encouragement, not as advice from above, but as a gift you yourself are trying to live.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, Word made flesh, You still teach Your disciples through Sacred Scripture. Through Genesis 21:22, let “At the same time Abimelech, and Phicol the general of his army, said to Abraham: God…” become more than a memory. Make it light for my work, patience for my home, and courage for my vocation. Amen.
