Catholic Verse of the Day

Isaiah 17:2

Douay-Rheims Catholic Bible verse for Saturday, October 21, 2028, with reflection, prayer, and a link to the full chapter.

Theme: Peace

Peace

The cities of Aroer shall be left for flocks, and they shall rest there, and there shall be none to make them afraid.

Isaiah 17:2

Reflection for Today

The Church sets before us Isaiah 17:2: “The cities of Aroer shall be left for flocks, and they shall rest there, and there shall be none to make them afraid.”

In Isaiah, the prophetic word unsettles comfort and awakens hope. God loves His people enough to call them back, and enough to promise a future. Peace is one of the first things anxiety steals. Christ does not deny our storms; He offers a peace that can remain even while the waves are still high.

Today's invitation under the theme of Peace is simple and serious. If possible, bring this line to Mass or to a brief visit before the Blessed Sacrament. Let Christ finish in silence what the verse began in your thoughts.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, Word made flesh, You still teach Your disciples through Sacred Scripture. Through Isaiah 17:2, let “The cities of Aroer shall be left for flocks, and they shall rest there, and there…” become more than a memory. Make it light for my work, patience for my home, and courage for my vocation. Amen.
